So I work in Derm And we see a lot of teenagers with acne. Couple things if it is hormonal acne many times a dermatologist will recommend a Clinda myosin benzoyl peroxide topical in the mornings, in the evenings Retin-A. One thing we tell our patients is to apply to a clean dry face, after washing wait at least 20 minutes before you apply the topical so it will be absorbed completely. Not sure how old your daughter is but my oldest teenager started on birth control for her acne, it resolved after that. with a retinoid as it is drying to her, start every third night for a couple weeks then increased to every other night for a week and then every night as tolerated. She can also put on a moisturizer before applying the retinoid. Make sure she is using it at night as in the mornings it would cause redness and sensitivity from the sun.
